Hostelify collects only the information necessary to fulfill your accommodation bookings and comply with regulatory guest reporting mandates:

• Contact & Booking Information: Full name, phone number, email address, check-in and check-out dates, bed/room preferences, and booking references.
• Government ID & Digital Self Check-In: To satisfy statutory hospitality regulations, guests uploading verification documents provide front ID photos, optional back ID photos, or manual ID entry (Aadhaar / Passport / Voter ID number) alongside an optional live verification selfie.
• Event & Community Activity: RSVP registrations for hostel events and anonymous or guest-tied selections in daily community polls.
• Technical & Session Data: Standard authentication cookies, session tokens, and operational log data for security and performance optimization.

2. Payment Security & Zero Card Storage

All online financial transactions on Hostelify (including direct bookings, pay-at-self-check-in, and Dynamic UPI QR payments) are processed securely through Razorpay, an RBI-licensed payment aggregator with PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance.

Hostelify never collects, stores, or processes sensitive credit card numbers, debit card PINs, CVVs, or UPI MPINs on our application servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To confirm, manage, and deliver PDF invoices for your bed reservations.
• To provide seamless digital self-check-in without reception delays.
• To send essential transactional notifications (booking confirmation, payment receipts, refund updates).
• To comply with legal, hospitality, and local government police verification obligations.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data. Your reservation and check-in details are shared exclusively with the specific participating hostel where you are registered to stay.
